But let's start with the picture quality of the IFP6552-1A ViewBoard: The interactive display has a 4K UHD resolution with 3840 x 2160 pixels, so images, documents and videos can be displayed in even greater detail and finer detail. A brightness of 350 ^cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1200:1 also ensure an excellent picture experience. The display has an IPS panel and ADS technology, which means that your content is still recognised very well even if you look at the display from the side. This gives you faster image processing and smooth transitions of content. It gives you remarkable image accuracy and first-class colour reproduction at wide viewing angles. ViewSonic has also integrated Screen Bonding Technology into the IFP6552-1A: This reduces the gap between the glass and the panel to a single millimetre, creating the bonding effect for an even brighter, better and clearer display.

The interactive 4K display enables students to collaborate better in class or online thanks to an Ultra Fine multi-touch system with dual-pen and 33-touch points (for Windows, 20-touch points for Android). The Ultra Fine Touch technology of the IFP6552-1A provides a completely natural and instantaneous writing experience, similar to writing with pen on paper. The next aspect is not entirely unimportant in times of social media, online teaching and private mobile phone use. No need for cumbersome wiring of your devices! Simply download the vCastSender mobile app and connect to the shared ViewBoard® screen. Using a one-time password, teachers and students connect their devices to the IFP6552-1A and have full access to the display's presentation and collaboration tools. All Android and iOS users, regardless of their location in the room, can mirror and annotate the content displayed under ViewBoard® in the same DNS (Domain Name System). The teacher has the option of sharing connected PCs, laptops or smartphones on the display at any time (moderation function) and, if desired, connected end devices can also be remotely controlled via the display. IOS, Windows and Android devices can be included. Your students also have the option of sending individual content to the display, which the moderator can then release and display as desired. ViewSonic has thought of something here: It integrates an image search that only displays graphics that may be used freely.

Wow, that's great? Read on, here comes another special feature that sets myViewBoard apart from other providers: Let's just assume you are standing in front of the school class and want to play a video. To do this, you might go to the website of one of the big providers on the market. But this is exactly where the problems start, because in some cases advertisements are shown before or during the video, which you do not know in advance and may not be suitable for children. On the other hand, the videos are not checked for content by the platform and one or the other video is a cheat. That's why myViewBoard offers the option of only viewing videos that have been pedagogically tested. And you as a teacher are further supported: With the 52 series, ViewSonic has paid attention to a user-oriented design. The display has a unique angled design at the bottom edge: there, the control buttons and I/O connections are clearly in view and offer you as a teacher easy access. This prevents disruption to the flow of the lesson by having to search for connections on the back or bottom of the display, and allows the display to be integrated seamlessly and creatively into the lesson. You can use the software you know and the IFP6552-1A is compatible with Windows, Mac, Chrome and Linux with full touch functionality for all connected devices. It already has a built-in Android 9 operating system and a powerful quad-core A73 CPU, so you can freely install apps from the Google Store, and there's plenty of storage space too thanks to 32GB of memory on the device.

Also new are the speakers and the 8-microphone array: this gives you two 15-watt front-facing speakers that guarantee a rich, powerful sound, even in large classrooms. In addition, there is a 15-watt subwoofer, which makes the room-filling sound more exciting for pupils, as the effect of the sound is amplified. In addition, there is a built-in 8-microphone array that can accurately detect and suppress noise, guaranteeing optinal sound in both distance learning and the classroom. Teachers can also easily access the 8-microphone array and any connected Visualiser from their personal device to select the most appropriate camera and microphone source.

Let's now move on to the point of connectivity: You can always connect the ViewSonic IFP6552-1A to your school network via LAN interface. However, a wireless connection is also possible at any time: in order for your students to be able to connect wirelessly to the display with laptops, mobile phones and tablets, you would also need to purchase the optional VB-WIFI-005 wireless module, which you can find in our shop. The wireless module supports a dual frequency bandwidth of 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz as well as the 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax WiFi standards. The VB-WIFI-005 also provides a fast Bluetooth 5.2 connection for one-to-one file and data transfer. The WiFi module is connected to the existing port and screwed to the display. This not only guarantees a stable connection, but also provides theft protection at the same time.

To enable you to quickly display your content, the display has a wide range of connections: 3x HDMI, 1x VGA and 1x DisplayPort - so all common inputs are available to connect modern notebooks, media players or computers to the IFP6552-1A. A range of USB ports completes the package: 2x USB 2.0 type, 4x USB 3.0 type, 1x USB-C 3.0 and 2x USB type for touch feedback. But the hardware has also changed: there are stronger speakers with 15 watts and an 8-microphone array, a new system configuration with a powerful quad-core A73 CPU with new Android 9 and larger storage space of 32GB, screen bonding technology for a brighter and better display of your content, as well as a user-oriented design with quick keys for easy access. So ViewSonic has taken it up a notch compared to previous models. For the school sector, and therefore for us, a decisive advantage of the IFP6552-1A: the simple set-up. Simply connect the display with just one USB-C cable for images, data, videos and power and you're ready to go. Are there any security concerns about the pre-installed Android operating system?

No. The installed Android operating system is encapsulated and users/applicants cannot simply install arbitrary apps. For example, access to Google's PlayStore is excluded, so neither teachers nor students could install apps on the display themselves. Only by installing apps would the Android operating system become insecure. From this point of view: although Android serves as the basis for the IFP6552-1A display from ViewSonic - so that you have a wide range of functions and possibilities even without an external PC or slot-in PC - it is self-sufficient and therefore cannot be compared with the problems and risks that mobile phone users can have with the Android operating system. The operating system is not accessible from outside and thus meets all the important criteria for secure operation.

The myViewBoard is located in a cloud. Is that allowed at all and how secure is it?

The topic of "cloud" still has a very negative connotation in Germany. Basically, we Germans are initially sceptical about things that we cannot control ourselves. For us, the issues of security, protection of intellectual property and the fear of high costs have always been at the top of the list. But in the meantime, cloud services have become almost indispensable and the market has developed enormously. Today, for example, cloud telephone systems, cloud software, cloud storage locations, etc. are available, which do not cut any corners when it comes to the topic of security and data protection, and it is no longer possible to imagine large companies and public authorities without them. ViewSonic relies on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for its cloud solution, which is trusted by German security authorities, among others. Amazon AWS Germany is DSGVO certified and the data that a user uploads from Germany to the AWS servers is also always stored in Germany. The special feature of AWS, however, is that a user from America does not store the data in Germany, but it is automatically stored on the American AWS servers. In this way, the applicable law of each country is observed and you don't have to worry about anything. With AWS, you can build on the most secure global infrastructure and be sure that you always own your data and can encrypt, move and manage your data.
