The new Samsung SBB-SS08NV2XEN Signage Player Box is the perfect solution for integrating all your existing third-party displays and projectors into the popular Samsung MagicINFO and Samsung VXT universe. With this innovative box, you can now also connect displays, televisions and projectors from other manufacturers to the Samsung signage content management systems and are no longer limited to Samsung displays. The Samsung SBB-SS08NV2XEN supports 4K content in UHD resolution (3840x2160 pixels with 60 FPS) and can be integrated into the existing company network via cable and WiFi in addition to a normal network connection.
The SBB-SS08NV2XEN has the MagicINFO Player in version S6 (SSSP6) and is also compatible with HTML5 and ES6 thanks to the powerful Chromium web engine. The SBB for third-party devices is equipped with a Cortex A72 processor, which works with a 1.7 GHz quad core and is equipped with 2.5 GB DDR4 memory. The pre-installed Tizen 4.0 operating system (Linux-based), in combination with the aforementioned processor, offers the perfect performance for playing your high-quality content. A good 4 GB of internal memory is available. As an option, you can of course also play your existing content directly via the USB 2.0 port. We have already had good experiences with an external Samsung SSD with 256 GB storage space and it is also the best solution if the internal memory is not sufficient and you want to publish large videos via MagicINFO. The Samsung SBB-SS08NV2XEN is connected to a display or projector via HDMI and then only needs to be supplied with power. So that you can switch your display on and off via the external media player, the Samsung SBB has HDMI-CEC and as long as your display or TV is also CEC-capable, the box can send the control signal to the respective end device. If you then specify in this display device that the display or projector should switch on or off as soon as a signal arrives or should switch off when there is no longer a signal, you don't need to worry about anything else and can concentrate on your actual business.
Please note: You do not have access to the virtual remote control of the projector or display. This virtual remote control is only available with Samsung Signage Displays. However, you can always see in real time which content is currently being played on the set-back box . You just cannot configure or control the display via the server.
The main purpose of the SBB-SS08NV2XEN for third-party devices is clearly the Samsung MagicINFO or Samsung VXT compatibility. Samsung does not always have the right solution for everyone with its displays. However, if you have decided in favour of one of the two Samsung digital signage software solutions, you would otherwise have to look for a new digital signage provider that combines different manufacturers. This box elegantly avoids this problem, because you can simply make almost any display device compatible and continue to rely on the established Samsung content management systems.
Our opinion:
If you relied on MagicINFO or Samsung VXT in the past, you were always forced to purchase professional Samsung signage devices. With this box, this necessity is a thing of the past, as you can now easily integrate existing displays, televisions, projectors or monitors into the existing CMS solution. All the target device needs to have is an HDMI input and. The Samsung SBB-SS08NV2XEN is an innovative solution and allows you to use one of the best digital signage systems on the market and have a free choice of devices.
Our recommendation:
To make the best possible use of this set-back box with MagicInfo, we recommend that you purchase a MagicInfo Unified licence (formerly MagicInfo Premium licence). You can also find this MagicInfo purchase licence in our online shop at any time. Click here for the MagicInfo Unified licence. As Samsung MagicINFO will be discontinued in May 2026, we recommend that customers who are not yet using MagicINFO start directly with the successor product Samsung VXT. Help with setup / installation:
The player is natively compatible with Samsung MagicINFO, so it can be connected directly to a MagicINFO server. To switch to Samsung VXT, you must first install the VXT player on the SBB. This is done by installing the latest firmware. Please contact us by E-mailso that we can send you the latest firmware by e-mail.
From the delivery of the displays to for setting up all devices and creating the content, we will be happy to advise you.
