Thanks to the protective glass, the intelligent heat management and the metallic back panel, the professional high-end MultiSync P555 PG can be displayed in public without hesitation. The particularly robust, 4 mm thick protective glass, which is coated on both sides and has a hardness rating of 9H to protect the display against external impacts (withstands impacts of up to 7.5J, higher than IK08), can be used even under the most difficult conditions. So if the P555 PG is to be used in areas where there is a risk of vandalism or accidental damage, the display is ideally equipped for this. The anti-reflective coating of the glass surface ensures that images are always perfectly recognisable at different viewing angles and distances. Schott's state-of-the-art coating process ensures that the reflectance of Conturan® is less than 1% and the light transmission is almost 97%. The result for you: outstanding clarity of your images, videos and documents. Schott Conturan® Standard glass is a soda-lime float glass that has solid optical, mechanical and chemical properties.

The MultiSync P555 PG has a professional-class panel with a wide colour gamut that displays significantly more visible colours than comparable panels. The SpectraView® Engine is a colour processing module integrated into the Sharp/NEC MultiSync P555 PG. It combines custom monitor characterisation and calibration with temperature and timing monitoring to provide an unparalleled level of colour control, accuracy and stability. You can correct for colour uniformity in the process: Using factory measurements and the SpectraView® engine, the display of your content is then produced with the best possible match. From faster and improved colour calibration, to the ability to accurately mimic colour spaces such as Adobe®RGBand sRGB, to printer emulations with ICC profiles and internal 3D lookup tables. In recent years, the correct representation of colours and colour adjustment capabilities have become increasingly important. The MultiSync P555 PG display from Sharp/NEC supports the simultaneous display of several images via Multi Picture Mode. In conjunction with the SpectraView® Engine, colours can be matched to the individual images as required so that the content is displayed optimally in each area of the display. You can display up to 4 images on one display. This is ideal for meetings in which you want to show several pieces of information side by side. With the Sharp/NEC MultiSync P555 PG you also have the option of connecting several displays of this series to form a video wall. To do this, you can use the daisy chain function via the DisplayPort output. By daisy-chaining the HDMI Out or DisplayPort Out video connections, a video wall is created in which a single image can be played back across all monitors in tiles. Nowadays, video walls are not only used in large shopping centres and shops, but installations of several flat screens also make sense as information boards in public places or in control rooms. In principle, this option of linking several displays together and displaying a larger image is a practical possibility. However, if you want to use a wall as a permanent solution, we recommend the special video wall displays for this application or an LED wall right away.

The MultiSync P555 PG can distribute both HDMI and DisplayPort input signals directly via daisy chain. DisplayPort daisy-chaining has also been expanded to include DisplayPort 1.4 and HBR3 functions. This means that up to four independent displays can now be driven from the same DisplayPort source via MST (Multi-Stream Transport)* by bundling multiple video streams into a single stream and sending it to the display, which then unbundles the signals back into the original streams - ideal for menu boards and retail applications. You also have the ability to handle 8K signals via the DisplayPort connector: By grouping screens together using the Tile Matrix function, i.e. when DisplayPort video signals are displayed across multiple monitors, true 8K video can be played back using a daisy-chain connection via the DisplayPort connector.

From time to time it may happen that the content is no longer shown on the display due to the failure of a signal source. For this reason, Sharp/NEC has developed the Input Detect function for the P555 PG: This allows you to prioritise up to three input sources, which the display can then access if a main signal source fails. The display then switches automatically according to your defined prioritisation. The First Detect option also ensures that the display switches on automatically when a source is connected and the display thus receives a synchronised signal.

In this context, let's move on to the topic of connection options: Here two HDMI 2.0 inputs and two DisplayPort inputs are available, with which you can connect computers and Blu-ray or DVD players, for example. For the necessary sound, external speakers can also be added, such as the Passive Collaboration Soundbar SP-PSCM-IQ , which you can find in our shop. USB ports are also built into the unit: The USB downstream port (type A) is suitable for external devices such as cameras, flash memory or keyboards. With the USB-B upstream port, you connect your PC via a USB cable and can then control the devices connected to the USB port. In addition, there is a USB port for devices that need a power supply, such as a multi-presenter stick for the next corporate presentation.

Above all, however, the Sharp/NEC MultiSync P555 PG scores points when more computing power is required: the display has an Intel® SDM slot that is compatible with Intel® Smart Display Modules (Large/Small). The module can be inserted directly into the designated slot of the MultiSync P555 PG without the need to install external devices or cumbersome video and audio cabling. The Sharp/NEC P-Series also has the option of being upgraded with a BirdDog Intel® Smart Display Module (Intel® SDM). BirdDog has developed a complete operating system for the Intel SDM platform, simply called BirdDog OS, to provide a truly integrated NDI distribution system. In the design of the MultiSync P555 PG, Sharp/NEC has paid attention to a robust construction. In the housing structure , plastic has been completely dispensed with: The frame and the back cover are made entirely of metal and are therefore not only sustainable, but also particularly safe.
