The Sony FWD-98X90L 4K Full Array LED X90L display, together with the Cognitive Processor XR, offers realistic colour depth and intense contrasts. The newly developed local dimming structure delivers a natural picture with razor-sharp brightness and an authentically dark background. The FWD-98X90L's XR Contrast Booster precisely balances the light on the screen and adjusts the brightness for higher luminosity and deeper blacks. The Full Array LED backlight of the Sony FWD-98X90L display brings brighter highlights and deeper blacks. The intensity of the LEDs can be adjusted depending on the scene. As for the sound, it comes directly from the right place in the picture with the Acoustic Multi-Audio™ of the Sony FWD-98X90L display. Thanks to the tweeters placed discreetly behind the edge of the screen for sound positioning, it is precisely matched to the visual elements. The Sony FWD-98X90L display offers more than a billion colours that are reproduced with the subtle differences you see in the real world. Thanks to Cognitive Processor XR™, the full-array LED with XR Triluminos Pro™ ensures natural shadows in every detail. The XR Triluminos Pro™ display technology reproduces colours from a wider palette, making colours richer and more lifelike. Every pixel is scaled for remarkable clarity and advanced noise reduction techniques and a specialised pattern database ensure that every scene is true to detail.
Conventional Edge LED backlighting has problems with deep blacks and bright highlights. A series of LEDs must try to balance the light throughout the picture. Dark parts not so dark, bright parts not so bright - more like blooming. Sony, on the other hand, has equipped the FWD-98X90L with full array LED backlighting, which gives you brighter highlights and deeper blacks. The intensity of the LEDs can be adjusted depending on the scene. Multiple LED zoning allows Full Array display models to be customised and contrasted depending on the scene. This allows certain areas of the screen to be incredibly bright while other areas remain pitch black to achieve the best possible contrast. Imagine seeing a white object in a dark environment on your display: on an edge-lit or direct-lit screen, you would sacrifice the brightness of the object for a darker background (or vice versa), and the background would probably appear blue or grey. On the Sony FWD-98X90L Full Array display with local dimming, you get a beautiful, natural picture with crisp brightness and an authentically dark background.
The Sony BRAVIA FWD-98X90L also has a 4K panel with 120 Hz and the unique Cognitive Processor XR: The world's first image processor with cognitive intelligence opens up a completely new picture experience that lets you immerse yourself even deeper in scenes. With XR Color, you can discover an even wider range of natural colours with an extended hue and saturation range, vivid shades and realistic textures. The Cognitive Processor XR™ accesses huge amounts of image data and restores lost details and structures in upscaled image sources. XR Contrast Booster technology makes bright areas brighter and dark areas darker, adding depth to scenes (without losing detail in highlights and shadows). The Cognitive Processor XR™ also includes X-Motion Clarity: it ensures a smoother, more natural reproduction of fast-moving images on the screen. On some displays, sports and fast-action scenes often appear to be blurred. The Sony FWD-98X90L's X-Motion ClarityTM technology ensures that everything remains smooth, bright and clear. The Sony FWD-85XR90 makes you feel like you're in the cinema. The Acoustic Multi-Audio+™ system delivers cinema-quality surround sound with a beam tweeter on top and a tweeter on the sides of the frame. Every sound comes from exactly the right place. The Sony FWD-98X90L is equipped with the Android 10 operating system and allows the free installation of apps from the Google Store. You have 32GB of storage space available on the device. For example, simply install business tools, lifestyle apps, weather or news apps on your BRAVIA display. The integrated TV tuner allows you to connect DVB-T/T2, DVB-C and DVB-S/S2 directly, saving you the need to purchase external receivers. This means you can access your TV programmes via a cable, satellite or terrestrial connection. DVB-T is the standard for terrestrial (terrestrial) digital television broadcasting, which uses radio frequencies to transmit television signals from transmitting antennas to receiving antennas on buildings or to portable receivers. DVB-T2 is the second generation of DVB-T, which offers improved efficiency and robustness, i.e. DVB-T2 can transmit more programmes in higher quality and with better picture and sound quality than DVB-T. DVB-C is the standard for digital television broadcasting via cable networks. DVB-C is mainly used in urban areas where cable infrastructure is widespread. It enables the transmission of television signals via coaxial or fibre optic cable. DVB-S is for digital television broadcasting via satellite, so that television signals can be transmitted over long distances directly to satellite dishes on buildings or portable receivers. Simply mirror your content on your FWD-985X90L display with the integrated Apple AirPlay or Chromecast. Thanks to the integrated Google Chromecast, you can instantly transfer presentations, images and videos up to a resolution of 4K from your smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC. You are not tied to specific compatible devices, because in addition to Windows and Android, you can also easily stream videos and sounds from an iPhone, iPad or Mac to the display using Apple AirPlay. This not only saves you additional hardware and costs, but above all time. You can quickly and easily integrate your devices during a meeting to make the meeting more interactive and make certain things clearer.
In terms of connectivity, the FWD-98X90L provides you with four HDMI ports, one RF input (antenna/cable), two IF inputs (satellite) and a PCMIA slot for connecting external source devices. You can also control the display in a variety of ways: To do this, you use an IP network (RJ45 and WiFi), for example to manage switch-on/switch-off times or the selection of input signals. The FWD-98X90L has 4x 10-watt speakers (full range (bass reflex) x 2, tweeter x 2).
In terms of mounting options, the Sony FWD-98X90L is designed for professional installations and has a robust, yet slim and flush design. The one-slate concept of the Sony FWD-98X90L display combines the screen and frame into a single form. This minimises distractions and maximises your experience. A stand also offers flexibility and fits all furniture and living spaces. Although you can only install the FWD-98X90L in landscape format, this is the most common installation format anyway. The display has a standard VESA standard of 600 x 400 mm, which means you are extremely flexible in terms of possible mounts. Two small stands in titanium black with metal edges are already included in the scope of delivery so that you can position the FWD-98X90L comfortably on a table or shelf. You can choose between 2 possible positions: Standard position and narrow position. The display weighs 67.2 kg (without feet). The Sony BRAVIA™ FWD-98X90L combines high picture and sound quality and includes initiatives that help reduce environmental impact, such as the new ECO Dashboard TV app. It enables the user to reduce energy consumption - by reducing the overall use of pure plastic in the TV cabinet by approximately 60%, as well as reducing the packaging size by 15% and the total weight by 12%. The Eco Dashboard brings all environmental settings together in one place so they can be easily changed individually or simultaneously.
