Everyone is familiar with e-paper from everyday life and, despite all its advantages, it is barely recognised
Most people are more familiar with e-paper displays from digital price tags or e-book readers. These digital price boards can be found in almost every modern retail shop. They offer retailers a fast and often centrally controlled solution for updating prices. The small e-paper displays are battery-operated and are therefore very flexible in use. As a rule, e-paper displays are offered in black and white or in the 4 basic colours, which is sufficient for simple applications, but is not ideal for digital advertising. This is where Philips comes in with its 31.5-inch display. With 65,000 colours, companies are now able to present brilliant and vivid colours on an e-paper.
No reflections & high visibility are essential for digital advertising
The great advantage of e-paper technology is that there are no reflections. This is also the reason why this technology is often used in e-book readers. Readability is not affected by ambient light or sunlight, which is a great advantage, especially in digital advertising. With the 31.5 inch Philips e-Paper Display 32BDL5150I/00, you no longer need to worry about location or room brightness. Visibility guaranteed. Unfortunately, outdoor use is not possible.
Up to one year without recharging - thanks to rechargeable batteries
Another special feature of the Philips Tableaux 32BDL5150I/00 E-Paper is that it requires practically no power. Four 18650 batteries can be inserted into the device itself, although these are not supplied. Once these are charged, the device can be operated independently for up to 1 year without recharging, depending on the application. Perfect for places where there is no power socket. If you prefer a conventional power connection because you want to change content frequently or prefer to be on the safe side, you can still benefit from the very low energy consumption of the Philips e-paper. In addition, this version can also be powered via PoE, which means you only need a LAN cable to supply the device with power.
The Philips Tableaux for displaying digital signage images
In principle, the 31.5 inch display is intended exclusively for image reproduction. Videos cannot be played on this display. The e-paper only really consumes power when you load new images onto the device. You can use either a USB stick or an SD card (both not included) to upload content. Alternatively, this is also possible via a LAN or WiFi connection. The internal memory of 16 GB offers sufficient space for numerous images.
Integrated SoC and third-party platforms
The Philips Tableaux has a built-in Android SoC (with Android 13). As already mentioned, content updates can be managed manually or remotely via PPDS' own or third-party platforms. The Philips e-paper display is also compatible with the cloud-based management platform PPDS Wave.
Portrait or landscape format - you decide!
The display can be mounted in both portrait and landscape format. The daily runtime release is 24/7 in both orientations, i.e. operation is guaranteed around the clock. The 32BDL5150I/00 e-paper display has two VESA mount sizes: 100 x 100 and 200 x 200 mm. At 3.2 kg, the 31.5-inch display is also not too heavy. This means that the Philips Tableaux can also be used as a mobile screen in the field at any time. When looking for a suitable mount, the VESA standard and the weight are decisive.
