If your system should fail for a short time, you don't have to worry that your displays won't play any content. Panasonic has integrated the failover function for such situations, which switches the system to backup signals if a video or audio signal is interrupted. As soon as the main signals can be restored, the original picture or video is displayed again. In airports, railway stations or shops with 24/7 operations, this makes everyday work much easier.
Let's move on to the connectivity of the Panasonic TH-55VF2HW: for easy installation and low system costs, the Panasonic TH-55VF2HW features the DigitalLink function. Based on HDBaseT? technology, DigitalLink supports the transmission of HDMI signals, video, audio and control commands over a single CAT5e cable (or higher) for distances of 150 metres for Full HD video and 50 metres for 4K video. With DigitalLink, you therefore have low costs as you need fewer system upgrades, external receivers and less overall cost for AV control software. You're also less likely to have a system failure because you're working with fewer cables and receivers. For large venues, there is an optional Digital Interface Box (ET-YFB100G) or Digital Link Switcher (ET-YFB200G).
Now let's look at the connection and link options: With the TH-55VF2HW, you can play your content via a USB storage device. To do this, simply plug your USB device into the USB slot provided on the display and the content is played automatically. Pictures (possible formats: JPG, KPEG, KPE, BMP), videos (possible formats: AVI, MKV, WMV, ASF, MP4, MOV, FLV, TS, MTS) or entire playlists can be played back via such a storage device. For example, create a playlist for a restaurant, hotel or spa, which then runs all day with the desired sequence of your content. This way you don't have to worry about anything and additional staff is not necessary either. And you don't even have to buy any software for this, because you can download the content management software free of charge from the Panasonic website (a link to this can be found here: Download Content Management Software). With it, you can easily create your own playlist, in which you can even combine still images and videos. You also have the option to create schedules for when your playlists should be played. You can even synchronise and transfer these schedules to a USB storage device or via your LAN connection.
ThePanasonic TH-55VF2HW has a large number of connections: you can enjoy an HDMI connection, a DisplayPort connection, two DVI-D as well as a VGA and USB connection. This way, you can connect several devices for the next meeting in the meeting room. By connecting the DisplayPort input/output terminals in a daisy-chain connection, 4K images can be displayed simultaneously. The display also has two built-in 10-watt speakers, so you don't need external speakers, which is especially beneficial when installing a large display in confined spaces. However, you can of course still connect external speakers. The audio input and output with 3.5 mm jack connection is also advantageous if you want to connect a microphone to the display or pass the audio signal through to a sound system.

For example, you can simply connect your USB storage devices in 2 x 2 multi-screen configuration for automatically synchronised 4K (4 x 1080p) images (see picture). No external devices or processors are required. This feature also serves as a backup in case the primary video source fails. The LAN connection allows you to control the TH-55VF2HW and multiple devices simultaneously and integrate them into your existing system. Panasonic also offers Multi Monitoring & Control software, which allows you to control your displays and peripherals over the intranet. This can be extended with further functions such as the display of error messages or improvement of maintenance measures - but this costs money. Basically, however, even the basic control functions are sufficient. As a bonus, this display also has the cloning function, which makes it easier for you to set up several displays. If you install more than one TH-55VF2HW, the cloning function allows you to use a USB storage device to transfer the settings of a parent display to other units.
