Precise colour reproduction thanks to Pure White Generator & Dynamic Contrast NX

The PT-MZ20KLBE achieves rich colour reproduction with ultra-high brightness of 20,000 lumens thanks to the Pure White Generator function developed by Panasonic Connect. With conventional systems, this normally results in a loss of energy from the light source. The PT-MZ20KLBE uses a multi-reflection system to reduce the loss of light source energy. This gives you an optimum colour balance without sacrificing brightness for realistic and accurate colour printing. The Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE's Dynamic Contrast NX technology (an evolution of Dynamic Contrast) adds a new dimension to light and dark control: it uses a newly developed video scene analysis circuit to detect differences in light and dark areas more accurately than before.

Up to 20,000 lumens with an alternating current of 100-240 V 

The Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE achieves a light output of up to 20,000 lumens with an AC input voltage of 100-240 V. Conventional projectors require an AC power supply of 200-240 V to project at 20,000 lumens*, but the Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE can project your images from a standard wall socket. This eliminates the need to install high-voltage power supplies and expands the range of situations in which you can use the 20,000 projector.

Improved dimensionality and sharpness with the Detail Clarity Processor 4

The Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE features the Detail Clarity Processor 4: The unique image quality correction circuit from Panasonic Connect thus reproduces details more clearly and sharply. The laser projector analyses video signal frequencies in each scene and adjusts the optimum sharpness based on the information extracted from the signal. Compared to conventional image processing technology, this system reproduces images even more naturally and three-dimensionally.

Supports 4K signal input

The Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE also supports uncompressed 4K/60p input signals* via HDMI® or DIGITAL LINK. As no external devices such as converters are required, 4K signals can be processed smoothly. This eliminates the need for re-encoding should the projector be used with other 4K-compatible devices, making projection with 4K signals simple and efficient.

Multi-laser drive engine for optimum operation without long downtimes

The Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE's multi-laser drive engine ensures stable projection even when problems with the light source occur. The projector is equipped with several modules consisting of many laser diodes. Should one of the elements fail, Panasonic Connect's unique failover circuit is activated so that projection can continue with virtually no loss of brightness. This allows the projector to be used with peace of mind in situations where a drop in brightness could affect important presentations such as large lectures and seminars.

Black level correction to adapt to the shape of the image

With conventional black level correction, only the width and angle of the black border are specified for correction, which makes edge blending on curved screens difficult. To solve this problem, the Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE is equipped with a function that allows the shape of the black edges to be adapted to the shape of the screen. With up to 17 points, flexible black level correction is also possible on curved image surfaces, which increases cohesion in multi-screen applications.

Geometric adjustment corrects keystone distortion and curved projections

With the Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE's integrated geometric adjustment function, various distortions on the screen can be corrected remotely. In addition to trapezoidal distortion, distorted projections on curved surfaces can also be corrected using Curved Screen Correction. With corner correction, the user can specify four screen corners, e.g. top right and bottom right, for correction. Image proportions can be retained and corrections can be saved as data.

Free grid enables precise correction of local distortions

In addition to the integrated geometric adjustment function, the free grid enables the precise correction of localised distortions within the image. Grids between 2 x 2 and 17 x 17 lines can be selected to enable point-by-point correction or batch correction by specifying vertical and horizontal lines. Correction data is retained even after changing the number of grids or dots, allowing a smooth transition from basic to detailed correction. This convenient function enables the adjustment of special projection surfaces, such as irregular or uneven wall surfaces, with the remote control.

Compatibility of the data cloning function with USB memory

The Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE projector supports data cloning, allowing you to copy settings and adjustment values from a main projector to sub-projectors via LAN1 or a USB memory device. This minimises the time and effort involved in setting up multiple projectors. 

Smart projector control app for a smooth installation 

Control the Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE projector from a smartphone with the Smart Projector Control App*. Connect the PT-MZ20KLBE to wireless LAN and scan the QR code displayed on the OSD menu screen or information monitor, and input signals and other functions can be switched from a mobile device. To do this, you need the optional AJ-WM50 wireless module. In addition to the ability to control up to 64 devices simultaneously, it also supports lens adjustment, test pattern switching and focus adjustment with your device's camera from a distance of 30 metres (when projecting a 300-inch image, max. distance for a diagonal of 100 inches is 3 metres).

Long-term stability with unique liquid cooling system and dust-proof structure

To achieve high brightness and stable operation, Panasonic has utilised a liquid cooling system in the PT-MZ20KLBE projector that was originally developed for Panasonic DLP Projection Systems™. This efficient design circulates cooling liquid directly to the light source modules, preventing temperature rises associated with high brightness projection. Combined with a highly reliable original dustproof structure, the system enables stable performance even in hot, dusty environments.

Backup input function for increased reliability

The Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE's backup input function enables seamless projection even if the input signal is interrupted. When HDMI 1 is set as the primary input and HDMI 2 as the secondary input, the projector switches to HDMI 2 in just 0.3 seconds if the signal to HDMI 1 is interrupted. This improves reliability and ensures stable operation in environments where the video presentation must not be interrupted.

Information monitor for changing settings and checking status

The information monitor of the Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE is located on the control panel of the projector main unit and displays information such as temperature, voltage, operating hours and input signals in real time. If an error occurs, the error number and related details are reported immediately. The status of the main unit can be easily checked and quick recovery from problems is made possible.

Pre-activated upgrade kits for Geometry Manager Pro software

For advanced screen customisation, the Panasonic PT-MZ20K series features Geometry Manager Pro software*, which enhances the built-in functions and enables customisation from a PC. In addition to the standard features included in the software, the PT-MZ20K series has built-in upgrade kits that allow access to all features without licence activation. The PT-MZ20K series offers tremendous support to reduce labour-intensive adjustments with camera-based² geometric distortion correction, edge blending, colour adjustment, stacking and automatic adjustment of brightness and black levels.

Remote Preview LITE for remote confirmation of images 

With the Remote Preview LITE* function of the Panasonic PT-MZ20KLBE projector, you can check input images in advance even when it is not possible to project content, such as outdoors during the day or during auditions. If your PC and the projector are connected to the network, you can use a web browser or the Multi Monitoring & Control software to display thumbnail images of the input video. Check the content even when the shutter is in use or the projector is in standby² mode to quickly detect problems between the source device and the projector for faster recovery.

Other functions 

The lens range is compatible with AFO (Active Focus Optimiser) 

A variety of optional lenses (eight models in total) are available to support a range of image sizes between 80 and 600 inches, allowing you to select the optimum lens for your projection requirements*. These lenses are equipped with a temperature sensor and automatically correct the focus in conjunction with the projector's AFO2 function. This technology maintains a sharp image regardless of the brightness of the content, eliminating the need for manual focus adjustment. Of course, powered lens shift and zoom adjustment via remote control or Smart Projector Control ^App2 are also supported.

Compatible with ultra-short throw zoom lens for space-saving installation 

The Panasonic ET-EMU100 is an ultra-short throw zoom lens with a projection ratio of 0.330-0.353:1 and a screen size range of 100-400 inches. This projector enables large-screen projection even in confined spaces. With no gap (offset area) between the ceiling and screen, the ET-EMU100 requires no adjustment and expands the visual expression range by supporting the zoom function despite its ultra-short focus.
