The BenQ MW826STH is a short-throw lamp projector with WXGA resolution and a short-throw ratio of 0.49:1, preventing distracting shadows or reflections as soon as the teacher or students move in front of the board. With the MW826STH short-throw projector, you can display images up to 120 inches in size, giving you more variation options in the classroom at low cost. With 3500 ANSI lumens, you get optimum brightness efficiency, which combined with a contrast ratio of 20,000:1, projects clear images in small to medium bright classrooms. If you want interactivity for the classroom, the MW826STH can be equipped with the optional PointWrite™ PW02 kit accessory and PT12 touch module. The MW826STH ultra-short-throw projector is the ideal partner for sustainable learning - whether for classrooms in schools, universities or educational institutions.
Durable image perfection thanks to DLP technology
The BenQ MW826STH is a DLP projector: With DLP projection technology, the light from the light source is projected through one or more colour wheels, which colours the light. Today, these colour wheels offer between 3 and 7 different colours. The light is directed via a DLP chip on which microscopically small mirrors are located. One micro-mirror is built into the chip for each pixel (pixel). These tiny mirrors can be moved independently of each other. The light is thus reflected through the lens onto the projection surface or not directed to the lens so that this pixel is projected as a black surface. DLP technology is characterised above all by the extreme durability of the technology: Mirrors hardly wear out at all and are suitable for 24/7 use. You also get very high contrast values: thanks to the ability to completely switch off reflective micromirrors to produce deep, true blacks, BenQ education projectors create a high inherent contrast ratio for good legibility and razor-sharp resolution in every single sub-pixel.
Thanks to the sealed design that protects the DLP chip from dust-induced image degradation and the industrial durability of DLP projection technology, the BenQ MW826STH is able to maintain good image quality over time by preventing colour decay. Unlike non-DLP projectors, it delivers a high quality image that is equivalent to the result of factory-new projectors after lamp replacement. BenQ DLP projectors have a high fill factor, unrivalled in their class, which minimises the dark edges around each pixel to avoid the "screen door effect" often seen in non-DLP projectors. The screen door effect, also known as the fly screen effect, occurs in projectors when the pixel structure of the image becomes visible, i.e. when the individual pixels on the screen appear separated from each other by small black lines or grids, reminiscent of a fly screen or screen door grid. The BenQ MW826STH really tries to minimise these grids and give you the best quality. This gives you clarity in small text and fine detail for superbly reproduced images instead of pixelated graphics.
Long lamp life
The BenQ MW826STH is a lamp-based projector. The lamp offers the advantage that it can be easily replaced by any user in the event of a defect due to its modular design. Above all, a projector with a lamp guarantees lower purchase costs compared to laser projectors. The lamp life of the BenQ MW826STH is 6,000 hours (10,000 hours in Eco Mode). Less frequent lamp changes and therefore lower maintenance costs lead to lower overall operating costs. The MW826STH's LampSave mode dynamically adjusts the power of the projection lamp to the content of the projection to save up to 70% energy and extend lamp life by up to 50% compared to normal mode.
BenQ's exclusive SmartEcoTM technology intelligently adjusts light output and perfects the energy-saving capabilities of DLP to increase lamp life while maintaining brightness and detailed image quality. By reducing energy consumption, SmartEcoTM extends lamp life up to 15,000 hours, three times longer than without SmartEcoTM technology.* To reduce overall power by 70% when fading out the projection, Eco Blank mode further increases energy saving capability by automatically dimming the lamp output.
* Lamp life in LampSave mode is three times longer than in normal mode.
Deep blacks and high brightness
The brightness of 3500 ANSI lumens and the WXGA resolution with 1280x800 pixels ensure bright and clear images and text. The MW826STH interactive projector produces clear images with a native contrast ratio of 20,000:1 for true blacks, vibrant rich colours and exquisite detail. Teaching materials consisting mainly of text are displayed superbly, even in large and brightly lit classrooms and lecture theatres.
The MW826STH also offers you a wide range of applications in classrooms and lecture theatres. With ultra-short throw projectors, the distance between the projector and the projection surface is very short and the projection angle is very steep. This prevents the presenter from being dazzled or causing shadows. As these devices project a large image even at short distances thanks to the special lens, ultra-short throw projectors are also ideal for small rooms. With the MW826STH lamp projector, you can expect a smooth teaching process without any space restrictions. Distracting shadows and light glare are prevented and you can work together with pupils or students. With the MW826STH, you get razor-sharp images up to a projection size of 120 inches. This means you are equipped for a wide range of requirements in classrooms and lecture theatres. This flexibility saves you costly and time-consuming renovations and installation work.
The interactivity you get with this MW826STH ultra-short throw projector
This is thanks to PointWrite™ technology, which you can add as an option with the PointWrite™ modules (PW02 and PT12). PointWrite™ combines PointWriteTM technology with QWrite software, allowing BenQ's short-throw interactive projectors to turn any flat surface, even the surface of a table, into an interactive whiteboard. Expensive digital whiteboards or additional equipment are not required. Nothing stands in the way of interactive and collaborative teaching in the digital classroom. In universities, documents can be easily annotated, enabling dialogue between students and lecturers in the shortest possible time. Collaboration is the keyword here, as teachers can use the multi-touch to let their students help shape the lesson and integrate group activities. They can use both their fingers (optional touch module PT12 required) and the pen (optional camera module with pens PW02). A nice feature: PointWrite™ can be set up very intuitively. It calibrates and saves the settings automatically as soon as it is connected to the PC's USB port. This means there is no need for complicated training for teachers - you can get started straight away. PointWrite™ projectors also allow intuitive Windows finger movements: Zooming in and out or scrolling when browsing websites, images or GoogleMaps - it's all possible.
Smart device management
Of course, you can also integrate the BenQ MW826STH into your company network. With BenQ's MDA software, you can control and monitor your projectors, set switch-on/switch-off times and create schedules. This is a real boon, especially when using several projectors in different rooms. You can also integrate the laser projector into the existing Extron IP-Link, Crestron, AMX and PJ-Link media control systems to ensure smooth integration. This can be done via LAN (RJ45) or RS232 (up to 15 metres). If you are interested in a media control system for your company, you are welcome to contact us for a consultation. Our competent project planners will put together the right products to fulfil your requirements.
Finally, let us come to the connections of the BenQ MW826STH. 2x HDMI, 2x PC input, 1x USB mini type B, 1x USB type A are available for image transmission. Audio has also been considered. The projector has a mini-jack input and an audio input (3.5mm jack). As the BenQ MW826STH is only equipped with a 10-watt speaker, we recommend integrating additional speakers for an even better sound experience. A LAN and RS232 connection are also available for integration into your network or an existing media control system. You can control and monitor all input and output signals simultaneously via RS232 and create impressive multi-projections.
The BenQ MW826STH projector comes with a 3-year or 2,000-hour warranty (whichever comes first).
