The BenQ LU960 is an installation projector with BlueCore laser technology for unique images in the corporate or cultural sector as well as in the hotel industry. The laser technology of the LU960 allows the projector to be operated around the clock and saves you cost-intensive maintenance intervals - BenQ guarantees at least 20,000 operating hours for the LU960. The installation projector has a high brightness of 5500 Ansi lumens, which, paired with the WUXGA resolution of 1920x1200 pixels, is perfect for projecting office documents and video formats. The BenQ LU960 laser projector has a low latency of 16.67 ms, which enables realistic simulation in fast mode. In terms of connectivity, the LU960 is equipped with a certified DisplayPort 1.2a that can transmit audio and video signals simultaneously at high bandwidth, giving you higher resolutions, higher refresh rates and greater colour depth. With the integrated HDMI output, you can transmit the image signal to other projectors or displays at any time and thus offer the best view to participants sitting further back. In addition, the BenQ LU960 offers HDBaseT for uncompressed transmission up to 100 metres and control.
The BenQ LU960 is a real all-round talent for fixed installations and thanks to laser technology, you no longer need to worry about maintenance and operational readiness. BenQ guarantees outstanding picture quality and full performance for at least 20,000 hours. If you convert the period just mentioned, you would need a new lamp every 2,000 hours for a perfect picture, which would correspond to around 10 lamps. In the end, this quickly adds up to several thousand euros, plus downtime and technician costs. BenQ laser projectors may seem a little more expensive at first glance, but the maintenance costs can be calculated in advance and you won't be in for any nasty surprises. The BenQ laser light source supports continuous operation around the clock and is suitable for applications in museums and exhibitions. The user can choose between three different light source modes to optimise energy consumption, and up to 70,000 hours can be achieved in dimming mode.
Another advantage of laser projectors is the high colour quality. The WUXGA resolution with 1920x1200 pixels delivers more detail and impressive clarity of images. The LU960's high brightness of 5500 ANSI lumens produces wonderful images in bright, compact showrooms with outstanding picture quality. BenQ uses dual colour wheels for this projector. This eliminates the white segment of the classic colour wheel and enables richer RGBY colours. Thanks to a perfect mix of red, green, blue and yellow colour segments, the result cannot be compared with a classic lamp projector. A 92% Rec.709 colour coverage is achieved: by increasing the colour ratio and purity of RGBY colours, the LU960 dramatically improves colour saturation to ensure superior presentation quality. The LU960 produces impressively clear images with a stratospherically high native contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1 - for the deepest blacks, vivid, rich colours and finest details. In addition, the installation projector has a customised light mode that ensures consistent brightness transitions. The light mode modulates the light output from 25% to 100% at a rate of 1%, optimising the projected image in a variety of ambient light situations. It is particularly useful for achieving uniform brightness across multiple projections.
In addition to the excellent lighting technology, the projection option is another very important criterion when deciding in favour of or against a projector. Create a 360° degree or portrait projection in no time at all and use the BenQ LU960 as a marketing tool for particularly eye-catching advertising content. Whether you want to project onto the ceiling, a wall, the floor, a pillar or a sloping surface, this laser projector is ideally equipped for the job. With the 1.5x zoom, you can easily and cost-effectively replace your ageing projectors in your company, as existing ceiling mounts can still be used to project large images in small rooms. In addition, the 1.5x zoom of the LU960 allows you to project images from 30 - 300 inches and experience large format images in the smallest of spaces. The BenQ LU930 is equipped with a two-dimensional keystone correction range of ±30 degrees in both horizontal and vertical directions. If the projector is or can be positioned off-centre, the unwanted keystone effect will occur. Thanks to horizontal (+/-24%) and vertical (+/-62%) lens shift, the lens of the LU960 is shifted and the image is not artificially processed. This means that the image quality remains unaffected and you can still adjust the projector perfectly to the screen even in difficult installation conditions. In addition, the BenQ LU960 has a lens lock so that the final position, focus and zoom of the lens can be fixed so that no readjustment is required in the event of a misplacement. In addition, the metal lens makes the zoom and focus adjustment more stable and accurate than plastic lenses.
The BenQ LU960 is designed for permanent installation and this is also evident in the variety of connections. In addition to the obligatory HDMI inputs, the projector also offers an extremely useful HDMI output. In large rooms, several projection screens can be set up within seconds, or you can simply forward the projector signal to an existing display for the best viewing experience. The LU960 is also equipped with a certified DisplayPort 1.2a. This allows audio and video signals to be transmitted simultaneously: The high bandwidth of DisplayPort 1.2a offers higher resolutions, higher refresh rates and greater colour depth. In addition, the two small barb structures on the connector provide a friction lock and an optional mechanical lock. The 3D Sync In /3D Sync out connections allow you to connect up to 4 projectors and project 3D content together via a single PC.
Using the HDBaseT connection provided, you can transmit the control, audio and video signal in the best HD quality via a conventional network cable (Cat 5e/6) up to 100 metres. Especially in large rooms, halls or at events, HDBaseT makes installation much easier and also reduces installation costs. Simple integration into Crestron, AMX and PJ Link is possible at any time. For a fast connection, you can also use the LAN port and the MDA ("Multiple Display Administrator") software. Especially for institutions and companies, this variant offers powerful, centralised control of several BenQ projectors, with automatic opening and closing processes for publicly accessible rooms, remote-controlled switching on and off and scheduling. You can also integrate the laser projector into existing Extron, Crestron, AMX and PJ-Link media control systems for seamless integration. This can be done via LAN (RJ45) or RS232 (up to 15 metres). The BenQ LU960 has excellent dust protection with IP5X certification: BenQ laser projectors are equipped with sealed laser modules and enclosed light engines to protect the DMD chip, colour wheel sensor, laser package and other optical components. This lock-and-key design hermetically seals the engine from dust, extending the life of the projector. The BenQ LU960 features a colour wheel sensor with a sophisticated anti-dust function that prolongs optimal performance by repelling dust that can accumulate on the conventional sensor and block the IR signal, resulting in flickering, abnormal colours or even shutdown.
