The Barco ClickShare CX-20 GEN2, the new generation of Barco ClickShare conferencing systems, further enhances your teamwork, whether it's a quick brainstorming session in the huddle room or a presentation or meeting in a small meeting room. As today's workplaces require smooth hybrid collaboration and flexibility even with meeting participants' devices (BYOD), the Barco ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 boosts the creativity of your conferences as each participant can easily share their content wirelessly. With the ClickShare CX-20 GEN2, sharing content is quick and easy from any laptop (Windows or Mac) or mobile device such as smartphone and tablet with just one "click" via the free ClickShare App or with the included ClickShare Button. With your pre-installed or preferred video conferencing platform on the laptop you need less than 7 seconds to start e.g. a hybrid huddle meeting via the ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 . Within a few seconds you can then wirelessly stream with your laptop to a display or projector located in the room and simultaneously get access to cameras, soundbars and microphones installed in the meeting room. The Barco ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 is thus a perfect wireless presentation and video conferencing solution.
Barco's CX-20 GEN2 works with all devices, any UC technology - that is, all providers of software and cloud-based video conferencing solutions and all brands of AV peripherals. With the ClickShare CX-20 GEN2, everyone in the company can simply work with what they like to use themselves and are no longer limited to a fixed application. At the same time, the focus is even more clearly on the issue of security. For example, the ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 has ISO 27001 certification, making it the most secure wireless presentation system.
As you would expect from Barco, you can integrate mobile devices into your conference at any time. For example, participants can simply pick up their iPad and actively publish content on the large screen. In video conferences you can use the integrated camera of your tablet or smartphone and thus also participate in the conference live via mobile phone or iPad. The wireless connection to the ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 is possible both from a notebook with the included ClickShare button and without the button. Notebooks, tablets or smartphones can connect via the desktop app for Windows or MAC or the mobile app, but also via Google Cast, Airplay and Miracast. This covers all common providers and provides you with a wide variety of connection options.
If the installation was always complex and never really possible wirelessly before, this changes with the Barco ClickShare CX-20 GEN2. Simply connect the room display via HDMI and the video conference camera via USB to the ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 conference system. With the ClickShare CX-20 GEN2, you also have the option of connecting another room display to the base unit via DisplayPort using the USB-C. Take the supplied ClickShare USB-C button and plug it into your notebook or use the free Barco ClickShare app. Open your pre-installed video conferencing software and you are ready to hold wireless video conferences. Once again Barco proves that they can not only build high quality and secure products, but are also a true problem solver.
Of course, the Barco ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 also has a whole range of other useful features: Let's say you are connected to the ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 with your laptop and start a video conference via e.g. Microsoft Teams. Now, however, you do not only want to include the video conference camera in the meeting, but also everything you display on your screen. With the "Room View" (also called Local View), Barco provides you with a suitable solution for this. In MS teams, the "ClickShare Client" window can simply be shared and all remote participants (also called remote participants) can then view the contents of the screen. If, for example, you are currently showing your current sales figures on the display, remote participants can also view this via the room display function in MS Teams.
On the subject of simplicity and unique selling proposition, here is another interesting feature: the improved presence detection with ultrasonic proximity detection - called "PresentSense" - is a real relief in everyday meeting life. Simply walk into the conference room and connect immediately. You no longer have to select a room, no longer have to enter PIN codes and there is no longer any danger of connecting to the wrong ClickShare Base Unit. Only those in the room can see and hear what you are doing. PresentSense checks via sound waves and thus ensures that you are really present in the room. The sound signal is designed in such a way that it cannot leave the room. As soon as you leave the room at the end of the presentation, automatically disconnects your connection to the ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 in that room .
Let's move on to the individual components of the Barco ClickShare CX-20 GEN2:
Barco ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 Base Unit (Base Station)
Even if it is not always visible - the Base Unit is the heart of the ClickShare XC-20 GEN2 conference system. You can easily mount this base unit on the wall using the bracket included with , thus eliminating the need for time-consuming installation. The Base Unit receives the wireless data either from the ClickShare Button, the desktop app or the Barco ClickShare app and ensures high-quality and smooth playback. The Barco ClickShare Base Unit is best mounted near the room display or projector. The connection from the display/projector to the Barco ClickShare Base Unit is made via HDMI or via DisplayPort using the USB-C connection. If your display/projector has an HDMI or DP connection, you would of course have to work with the corresponding adapters. For the connection to a video conference camera, both a USB-A 3.0 and a USB-C port are available if the USB-C port is not already used for the connection to a display or projector. You can also connect a USB hands-free device to the base station of the Barco ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 at any time. To connect to your network, use the LAN port on the ClickShare Base Unit. Alternatively, you can also connect to your VLAN. The base unit is also the receiving unit, which includes wireless devices in the conference. The station understands the protocols AirPlay, Google Cast and Miracast. This means you are able to include virtually all mobile operating systems in the presentation. A USB-C connection is available on the front for pairing the button.
Barco ClickShare Conferencing Button
Connect the Barco ClickShare Conferencing Button to your laptop. One click and in less than 7 seconds you are automatically connected to cameras, microphones, soundbars and other AV peripherals in the meeting room. There is also another small button on the Conferencing Button. This button is called the Quick Button, with which you can , among other things, call up the content of the room display on your notebook ? a function called "local display". This way, if you don't have a perfect view of the room display, you can simply follow the meeting on your laptop, or share the room display with remote participants. The Quick Button also activates advanced powerful functions such as brainstorming, moderation, snapshots, control of AV devices (camera and audio), etc. Also interesting - the ClickShare Button is recognised as a CD-ROM drive instead of a mass storage device. This eliminates the annoying BitLocker pop-up message. The ClickShare Conferencing Button offers low latency and QoS for audio at all times. QoS stands for Quality of Service and states that the audio quality meets a set standard.
Barco ClickShare App
The Barco ClickShare App is actually like a virtual conferencing button. Once installed on a PC or notebook (Windows or Mac) as a desktop app or on a mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone as a mobile ClickShare App , you can share content via the app with similar innovative collaboration features: Pause, Window Selection, Enhanced Desktop, Ideation and Moderation. Optimally, the ClickShare App automatically detects which ClickShare Base Units are nearby. The Base Units are listed according to signal strength. The Barco ClickShare App is available for download free of charge for both desktop and mobile devices. No admin rights are required to install the Barco ClickShare App on a notebook.
The Barco ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 can of course also be integrated into your network via the LAN connection on the ClickShare Base Unit. No matter whether you want to connect the device to the network via Ethernet or set up a dedicated VLAN for all your ClickShare devices present in the company - you can easily realise a seamless integration into your network at any time. Of course, security is also a top priority for all ClickShare systems. The ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 is the most secure wireless presentation system with ISO 27001 certification. By integrating the ClickShare CX-20 GEN2 into your network, you also have the option of centrally managing the device and any ClickShare systems that may already be in your company. Whether you want to realise this central management via the optional Barco XMS EU Management Server or via the optional cloud-based Barco XMS Management Platform is, of course, entirely up to you. In any case, the device management of your Barco ClickShare Base Units is greatly simplified by the XMS systems.
For the ClickShare CX-20 GEN2, the manufacturer Barco grants a 1-year warranty as standard. By activating the already included SmartCare, you can extend this warranty to 5 years. Please note that end customers must register their ClickShare system within 6 months of receiving it in order to activate SmartCare. With SmartCare, in addition to the warranty extension, you also receive extended service through priority helpdesk access, fast hardware replacement and 24/7 access to online tools and documentation from the manufacturer. SmartCare therefore means for you: fast on-site replacement through express shipping, extended hardware coverage up to 5 years and investment protection as you avoid unexpected replacement costs.
