The digital whiteboards in the WAF series offer the opportunity to reorganise the teaching and learning process. This allows pupils to be trained in an optimal and contemporary way. Classic whiteboards have helped generations to learn. But they were always very limited in their application. If circles can only be recognised with a lot of imagination or the written text first has to be "translated", then you are certainly staring at a chalkboard. Android operating system the best basis in the classroom

In contrast to all other Samsung displays, the WAF series was deliberately not based on Tizen but on Android. Android is an operating system that every student and teacher is already familiar with from everyday life. This lowers the inhibition threshold for the new tablet from the outset, as you are in familiar territory right from the start. Teachers can customise the Android display according to their ideas and needs at any time. The home screen is simply populated with the most important apps for everyday teaching. Would you like to install your favourite app on the whiteboard? No problem, because thanks to Android 14 and a direct Google Play Store connection with EDLA certification, the whole (app) world is finally open to you - especially the popular Google education apps. Another advantage is that the Android operating system naturally also offers a convenient and stable way to connect to other devices. This makes it easy for both sides to establish a wireless connection with a display from the WAF series and share content. A wireless mouse and keyboard can be paired with the displays at any time via Bluetooth if required.

But what about programmes and tools that are only available under Windows? Samsung has also thought of this with the WAF series and the whiteboards offer an OPS slot into which you can integrate an optional OPS PC with a Windows operating system. This means you can switch back and forth between the two worlds at any time and don't have to commit to one system.

The classroom as a place of collaboration

With the WAF displays, the classroom becomes a place where everyone can work together. No matter which device teachers or pupils bring to class. This makes it easy to share and discuss homework with the whole class. Surveys or quizzes can also be created with this digital whiteboard. The students then work on these on their tablets or notebooks. Teachers can also send displayed content from the display to connected laptops or tablets at any time. It is easy to save the content created and send it to students by email after the lesson. A blackboard - just a little more modern

Blackboards are the centrepiece of every lesson. Whether it's a traditional blackboard or a digital whiteboard doesn't matter at first. In order to share the lesson with the whole class, both boards serve as a means to an end. A blackboard often consists of a large writing surface and two whiteboards. Everyone has probably encountered this before. A digital whiteboard usually also consists of a large surface. Side panels can be retrofitted or are often no longer required, as a display provides an almost infinite writing surface. Whereas with the classic whiteboard you can choose between the 4 basic colours, with the WAF series you can choose from an almost infinite colour palette or mix your own colours. In addition, the interactive display offers intelligent recognition of shapes and drawings and is able to display them better. Digital rulers and many other features are further advantages that a classic whiteboard cannot offer in this way.

Lessons visible to everyone

Who hasn't experienced it yet? A digital whiteboard is used in a large classroom or plenary hall. The right approach, but often a problem for participants sitting further back or who can't see the display well? A real challenge, as we hear time and time again. But what can the WAF series do better here? It's simple: you can simply mirror the image onto an even larger display, projector or LED wall using the integrated HDMI output. Conclusion on the Samsung WAF series and a brief comparison with the Flip Pro WM series

The Samsung Flip WAF series is the perfect solution, especially for use in the education sector. The WAF series is tailored to budgets and funding programmes, such as the DigitalPakt, both in terms of price and functionality. The displays in the WAF series offer increased overvoltage protection thanks to a ceramic fuse and a 500 V DC capacitor. This is a particularly important requirement in the classroom. The open Android operating system offers greater flexibility than the Flip Pro WMB series, which is based on a self-contained Tizen operating system. Android apps, which are very important in the education sector, can therefore be freely installed on the WAF series displays (direct connection to the Google Play Store), which would not be possible with a Flip series display. Another advantage of the new WAF series is a remote and application management platform. This service is included free of charge for one year and can be extended on request. While the Samsung Flip devices have an integrated rotation function depending on the screen size, the WAF screens do not offer such a function. The Flip Pro series is focussed on the B2B sector and is therefore intended more for companies and businesses. The WAF series is designed more for the education sector, but can and is also used in companies and businesses. The reason is clear: Android as the operating system and the option of Windows offer many possibilities, especially in the field of video conferencing, which is why the displays in the WAF series are always a solution in the B2B segment.

The Samsung WAF series is therefore not a replacement for the Flip Pro WMB series, but merely a useful addition to the Samsung Touch portfolio.
