Video conferencing with the excellent Hisense WR6BE series

The Hisense WR6BE series not only convinces our staff in our own EXPERIENCE CENTER, but also our colleagues from PC magazine. There, the 65WR6BE was tested in 2023 and awarded the grade very good. The testers' conclusion was: The Hisense 65WR6BE is an affordable, yet very well-equipped 65-inch whiteboard with numerous collaboration functions and split-screen display. Particular praise was given to the very good sound characteristics of the integrated microphones and the loudspeaker output during video conferences. The 5-year manufacturer's warranty was also highlighted. This applies to both commercial customers and schools and thus offers long-term protection for your investment.

Hisense WR6BE series promotes collaboration and increases flexibility

The Hisense WR6BE series interactive displays have a built-in Android operating system, so there's no need for an optional PC. Simply open the included whiteboard software and draw, paint or write almost like you would on a sheet of paper thanks to Optical Bonding. The infrared software recognises touch points with an accuracy of up to 2 mm, making it as precise as classic writing with pen and paper. You can use your fingers to switch between tasks, annotate content from any source, make handwritten notes, zoom in/out and undo changes, among other things. When painting or drawing, it is advisable to use one of the two pens provided to be able to work more finely. Drawn graphics are not only colourful, but can also be easily stretched, rotated, moved or copied. So you can change the colour of an object at any time simply by selecting it. Hisense's WR6BE touch displays are also equipped with intelligent character recognition technology that automatically recognises squares, circles, triangles, arrows, line segments, etc. and shapes them for you. The great thing about this is that when you draw a table on the screen, for example, the size of the table automatically adjusts to the content you have written. In addition, other apps are pre-installed on the integrated Android PC, which, among other things, enable a simple voting function as well as a video conferencing app with which you can immediately start a virtual meeting.

Modern Working 2.0

The topic of video conferencing in particular has gained a lot of importance in the last 1-2 years. Modern working, hybrid teaching or global collaboration have become very important both in the company and in the classroom. However, in order for all this to work smoothly, the hardware must also be designed for it. We would like to show you why this is the case with the Hisense WR6BE series:

Easily expand Hisense WR6BE series to a video conferencing solution

The interactive displays of the Hisense WR6BE series have a USB port on the top that is recessed in the housing, into which the optionally available Hisense 4K camera
HMC1AE can be plugged and connected to the housing. The camera then not only transmits the video image via USB, but is also directly supplied with power. The advantage of such a clip-on camera is obvious: if you do not want to take any risks during sensitive meetings and want to protect your privacy, you remove the camera and play it safe. However, to prevent the camera from being removed accidentally, it can be fixed to the housing at any time with 2 screws.

Both the WR6BE series displays and the video conferencing camera are certified for Cisco Webex, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. So you don't have to spend any time setting them up and you're ready to go. The plug-on camera can be used with both the built-in Android PC and the Hisense OPS PC and a Windows operating system. Perfect.

Hisense WR6BE series for high speech intelligibility

In videoconferencing, it is not only the picture that is important, but also the sound. It's not just about how well you understand the person you're talking to, but more importantly, how well the person you're talking to can understand you and the other participants. The Hisense WR6BE series touch displays are designed for high speech intelligibility. The interactive whiteboard displays have 6 microphones that are invisibly hidden in the housing. With a range of 6 metres, people are reliably detected and recognised. In our test, however, the microphones also functioned without problems at a range of 8 metres and ensured clean speech transmission.

To ensure that you always understand your video conference partner perfectly, a Dolby sound bar has been integrated into the housing. 2 loudspeakers with 15 watts of power each make external speakers superfluous.

BYOD and soon BYOM with the Hisense WR6BE series

BYOD stands for Bring Your Own Device, i.e. the bottom line is that every participant in a meeting should have the option of simply connecting their own mobile phone, tablet or PC to a display device. Conveniently, the connection should be wireless, i.e. without cables. No matter whether iOS / Android / Windows / MAC - all important operating systems are supported. The displays of the WR6BE series are equipped for BYOD and offer you a simultaneous display of up to 4 connected end devices. A mobile phone or tablet with NFC function can simply be held up to the display and the content of the mobile device is shown. This fast NFC sharing option is perfect when you are standing directly in front of the touchscreen and spontaneously want to show content from your smartphone. Ideal for brainstorming or product comparisons. For guests, we recommend using the supplied USB dongle HT002A. The USB dongle only needs to be paired once with the display and can then simply be plugged into any notebook with a USB-A port. One USB dongle is included in the scope of delivery; additional dongles can be purchased at any time.

The new BYOM dongle is expected to be available in stores from May 2023. Bring Your Own Meeting at Hisense means that you take the USB-C dongle and plug it into your PC. Once connected to the Hisense display, you can wirelessly use the display's camera and microphones in video conferences. We were able to extensively test one of these new dongles in our EXPERIENCE CENTER a few days ago and were absolutely convinced by the reliability and streaming quality. Hisense would thus be the first display manufacturer to offer BYOM with its devices.

Expand Hisense WR6BE Series with OPS PC

For those who like to work with a Windows operating system, there is a great expansion option. There is a WR6BE series slot on the back of the unit. You can install a full Windows operating system of your choice on the optionally available OPS PC. The integrated Android operating system with its advantages can still be used for quick and spontaneous meetings.

The optionally available Hisense OPS-Slot PC S02BDS58811E is the solution for using the interactive display like a computer.
